TEMPORARY BEER EVENT PERMIT
Utah Code Title 32B, Chapter 9

A DABS Temporary Beer Event Permit may be issued for public or private events where on-premises consumption of 5% or less ABV beer is planned, and you will be:
  • Selling beer to your guests, or
  • Providing beer that is included in the price of admission, or
  • Be open to the general public.

There are some limitations associated with these permits:
  • Temporary beer events do not last longer than 30 consecutive days and must not be used in lieu of obtaining a license for beer sales.
  • An applicant must be at least 21 years old.
  • Local consent and relevant permits from the local jurisdiction are required where the event is being held prior to applying to DABS.
  • Permit applications must be turned into the DABS at least 30 days prior to your event, and the application must be complete before it can be processed. Applications submitted outside of these guidelines risk the non-issuance of a permit. Additionally, due to statutory restrictions, applications received less than 7 business days prior to the event will not be considered. The 7 days do not include the day the application is received and the date of the event.
