New state liquor store to open in Moab

New spacious store to feature longer hours and refrigerated products

NEWS RELEASE – JANUARY 27, 2026

SALT LAKE CITY, UT – The Utah Department of Alcoholic Beverage Services opens a new liquor store in Moab on February 2, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. The new store, located at 963 Main Street, will better serve customers and hospitality businesses with improvements such as longer hours, refrigerated products and a designated will-call and loading dock for restaurant and bar operators. The store is expected to generate nearly $1.4 million entirely for state and local communities in its first five months of operation.

“My team and I at the DABS look forward to bringing a new, modern state liquor store to the Moab community,” said DABS Executive Director Ericka Evans. “Customers will notice a well-designed store that creates a positive, convenient, and safe shopping experience for Moab residents, businesses, and visitors.”

Evans says that at 12,360 square feet, the new store nearly triples the size of the current location. The added space creates room for a broader selection, 36 doors of refrigerated products, dedicated areas for local businesses to pick up orders, and Proudly Utah sections featuring items from Utah distillers, brewers, and wine and cider makers.

In the first five months of operation, store sales are expected to be approximately $3.5 million, with nearly $1.4 million of that being directed to state and local communities supporting services such as roads and transportation, education, health, public safety, and safety programs to reduce underage drinking.

The new Moab State Liquor Store was completed on time and under budget. It replaces the current Moab location at 55 West 200 South which closes permanently on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. Find a store near you.
