Salt Lake City, UT – Utah’s Alcoholic Beverage Services (DABS) Commission will hold their June meeting in Logan where they can connect with hospitality, food and beverage businesses and representatives in northern Utah. The Logan visit maintains the commission’s commitment to branch out to different parts of the state, learning more about the businesses and Utahns that the commission and the department serve. The ABS Commission meeting is on June 29, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., immediately following a meet and greet at 9:15 a.m. with local businesses and community representatives.

“The Alcoholic Beverage Services Commission directly affects Utah businesses and events. The decisions we make about license and permit approvals relate to individuals’ livelihoods, the culture of community spaces, and Utah’s economy and jobs,” said ABS Commission Chair Juliette Tennert. “Visiting different parts of the state to meet more Utahns involved in these businesses and activities gives the commission broader perspectives on the impacts of our decisions.”

Commission Chair Tennert says during their visit, the ABS Commission will talk with state liquor store employees, host a meet and greet with business, hospitality, and tourism representatives, and conduct their regular monthly meeting. Chair Tennert says she will help kick off the meet and greet with brief remarks, followed by DABS Director Tiffany Clason, and Julie Hollist Terrill, director of the Cache Valley Visitors Bureau.

“Our restaurant and cultural scene in Logan is on fire. Diverse dining options are expanding, which brings more exciting options for both locals and tourists,” said Hollist Terrill. “The Department of Alcoholic Beverage Services and the commission play a key role in our community’s success.”

Tennert says the monthly commission meeting will immediately follow the meet and greet. Information on the meeting agenda and how to watch it live on YouTube is available on the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Services website.
