Salt Lake City, UT — Today, the Utah Department of Alcoholic Beverage Services (DABS) launches its new help desk, improving accessibility and service for all Utahns. Now anyone with a question for the DABS can easily contact the help desk by calling (801) 977-6939, emailing dabshelpdesk@utah.gov, or using the chat function found on abs.utah.gov.

“The new DABS help desk supports the department’s service-first mission by creating a single point of contact for anyone with questions for things like product information, licensing, and alcohol policies,” said DABS Director Tiffany Clason.

Clason says the help desk is open to Utahns needing basic information, as well as to product vendors and businesses licensed to sell alcohol. The help desk phone line begins with an automated service to efficiently direct the caller and an option to talk to a staff member ready to answer the phone. Help desk staff are also accessible through online chat found on the DABS website.

The help desk hours are Monday through Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., says Clason. Chats and emails sent outside of those times will be answered during help desk operating hours.

“The DABS wants people needing information from the department to easily find what they’re looking for. We are committed to our service focused mission and this help desk is a milestone in building on those goals,” says Clason.

Clason says the help desk was first announced when funding became available for it in the 2021-2022 Utah legislative session. The help desk is one of several service improvements the DABS promised to initiate. Other projects still in development are IT infrastructure in state liquor stores and for businesses licensed to sell alcohol, a new Click & Collect: Buy Online, Pickup In Store program, and a wine subscription program.
